Ode To The Peach

Along the peaceful grove two toned jewels hang from their humble boughs. The sweet aroma of nostalgia overwhelms me as I reach my eager arms to collect my treasures. One by one I fill my basket, childish innocence swelling in my belly as I reminisce the youthful days of slicing perfectly sweet peaches for my mother's cobbler.

Beads of sweat dance along my brow while the warblers and cicadas serenade me as I weave through the narrow rows of trees, my hands sticky with sweet nectar and my basket full of blushing peaches. I can't help but blush myself, cheeks flushed with happiness and content.

Washington wooed me with its apples but Alabama has reminded me of my first love, a gem only our summer heat can tend, the incandescently perfect and deliciously tender peach.

Thank you Andy of Mountain View Orchards for letting us enjoy your beautiful peaches!

In just a few hours we will board a plane for London and then later to Italy! We are beyond thrilled and ready to brave the crowds and jubilant Olympic fans :) If any of you have must-see suggestions for London please pass them along...

Cheers & Ciao!
